Accessibility Audits

The first step to a barrier-free web site

Accessibility audits identify issues that prevent a web site being accessible by everyone.

Web site pages are often made from templates. This means that accessibility issues are duplicated across many pages.

Because of this, we usually recommend auditing a representative sample of a web site's pages. The actual pages to be audited will be agreed with you during an initial consultation.

What the Audit Involves

Our audit tests are both manual and automated, because automated tests alone can not replicate the human experience.

The tests cover the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and ensure compliance with government legislation.

A detailed and informative report is delivered, including:

  • Results of the automated and manual checks.
  • A real world insight into the web site experience, provided by an expert screen reader user.
  • Clear recommendations for correcting any accessibility issues found.

This report can be used to shape internal policy, working towards a more inclusive web site experience.

Nomensa also provide training to ensure that your web site's accessibility is maintained.
