Introduction
This one day course will provide you with a full understanding of web accessibility legislation and guidelines. Using a screen reader in our interactive session will help you focus on the issues experienced by disabled users accessing the web. Your new-found skills will leave you in a position to build your own accessibility strategy for your organisation.
Who Should Attend?
This course is appropriate for Marketing Managers, Web Site Managers, Content Editors, Account Managers and those interested in understanding how web accessibility affects users. Web Developers and those in technical positions may also find this course useful as an introduction to web accessibility.
Course Outline
Below is a taster of what you will learn:- The business case for implementing an accessibility strategy
- An introduction to the law - The Disability Discrimination Act (1995), W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Understanding the barriers to disabled users and those using assistive technologies (interactive session)
- A guide to conformance levels 'Single-A', 'Double-A' and 'Triple-A'

What is provided?
All course materials will be provided, including best practice examples discussed during the course. Delegates will be awarded a certificate in Web Accessibility Explained upon completion. Lunch and refreshments are also provided.
